Sgt tommy's Kids Fishing Day
|
The Sgt. Tommy's Kids Family Fishing Day was created to teach children about the outdoors and get them excited about spending time outside. All children ages 3-15 are welcome to attend with their families and friends.
Last Years Signature Event was held on Saturday, June 15th at Herrick Lake in Wheaton, IL. We were able to hand out over 300 fishing poles! Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers, and those who could attend! Please sign up below to keep up with the latest news on next year's event!

FISHING DAY FAQ
Is there any cost to attend?
Absolutely not! This event is always free for all those who attend.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes! Participants should always register in advance to allow us to plan accordingly.
What time should I arrive?
Check-In opens at 8:00AM. Although the event does not start until 9AM, please give yourself time to get your new equipment before the event starts!
Where will I park?
Herrick Lake has two parking lots, a larger one off of Butterfield Road (close to the registration tent!). There is also a second parking lot .25 east of Butterfield on Herrick Road.
Is food served at the event?
This year, we will be serving hot dogs and veggie dogs with chips for lunch. Throughout the day there may be other special snacks available for the kids as well.
What time does the event end?
The last organized activity is lunch, which we typically serve around 12PM. Families are welcome to stay at the park and continue enjoying the day after the event is over!
I still have my fishing pole from last year - should I use that one instead?
We are glad you want to come back to the event again! We encourage you to gift it to a friend or neighbor who doesn't have one. You will get a new fishing pole this year!
